The start of a new class and new school year
This week I started my 4th year of teaching high school math. Some notable changes in my classes this year include units created by the Understanding by Design template, personal student math notebooks, and notes taken Cornell style. I have also "Pinterested" my classroom to make it more inviting to students which will hopefully increase their motivation to learn some math this year. I feel like a first year teacher all over again with all of the new strategies and ideas I'm bringing to my classroom this year. In addition to starting a new school year, I also have started a new Baker University class, The Connected Educator, which is why this blog is being created. In my search for four blogs for this weeks assignment, I've already found countless resources and ideas for my classes. Some of which I may even use this week when I start my first units! Two blogs in particular that have given me some great ideas to think about have been Miss Calcul8 and m+a+t+h=l
